Day 1: Monday, August 3 – 🚍 Departure & Madison, WI
Leave Campton at 6:00 AM and drive to Madison, WI. Tonight, we will stay at Hilton Garden Inn, within walking distance of the Memorial Union Terrace. We’ll enjoy a catered meal at the hotel. Come experience the iconic sunburst chairs, lake views, and gorgeous sunset at the historic Terrace—no reservations needed.
Day 2: Tuesday, August 4 – 🛥️ Wisconsin Dells & Mall of America
After breakfast, we’ll head to Wisconsin Dells for a boat ride through the Upper Dells. Cruise past Chimney Rock, Blackhawk’s Profile, and Romance Cliff. After lunch and shopping in town, we’ll drive to Bloomington, MN and stay at Radisson Blu Mall of America. Enjoy time to shop, dine, or relax before the mall closes at 9 PM.
Day 3: Wednesday, August 5 – 🎭 Medora Musical & Fondue Dinner
Depart at 7 AM for Medora, ND. Tonight, enjoy a pitchfork fondue dinner—12oz steaks cooked western-style with all the fixin’s—followed by the Medora Musical. We’ll stay at Townplace Suites near Medora.
Day 4: Thursday, August 6 – 🦬 Roosevelt Park & Shelby, MT
After breakfast, we’ll drive through Theodore Roosevelt National Park, stopping at the visitor center for shopping and a break. Then we head to Shelby, MT for a catered Pizza Hut dinner (pizza, wings, cookies) and overnight at Best Western Shelby Inn.
Day 5: Friday, August 7 – 🏞️ Glacier National Park & Calgary
Travel to Glacier National Park for a 3-hour Red Bus Tour. Then drive to Calgary, AB and stay at Best Western Plus Downtown Calgary. If time allows, enjoy a walk along Stephen Avenue—Calgary’s pedestrian mall filled with shops, restaurants, and live entertainment.
Day 6: Saturday, August 8 – 🌊 Bow River Float & Canmore
We’ll leave Calgary around noon and drive to Canmore, where we’ll stay for four nights. Before checking in, enjoy a float down the Bow River. Canmore’s charming town center is walkable, and public transportation is available to Banff.
Day 7: Sunday, August 9 – 🧭 Free Day in Canmore or Banff
The driver will be off today. Explore Canmore or Banff at your own pace, or plan your own excursion.
Day 8: Monday, August 10 – 🚡 Banff Highlights & Gondola Ride
With a step-on guide, we’ll explore the Lake Minnewanka Loop, including Johnstone Lake, Two Jack Lake, and Lake Minnewanka. Enjoy short walks, wildlife viewing, and stunning vistas like Norquay Viewpoint, Hoodoos, Surprise Corner, and Bow Falls. Ride the Banff Gondola and enjoy lunch at the summit. Overnight in Canmore.
Day 9: Tuesday, August 11 – 🏔️ Lake Louise, Moraine & Yoho
Today’s guided tour includes Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, plus Yoho National Park’s Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake, and Takkakaw Falls—the highest in the Rockies. Overnight in Canmore.
Day 10: Wednesday, August 12 – ❄️ Columbia Icefields & Glacier Explorer
Travel the scenic Icefields Parkway—rated the #1 scenic drive on the planet—with stops at Bow Lake Lodge, Peyto Lake, Weeping Wall, Bridal Veil Falls, Tangle Falls, and Athabasca Falls. Ride the Glacier Ice Explorer onto Athabasca Glacier and walk on the ice. Overnight at Best Western Plus in Hinton.
Day 11: Thursday, August 13 – 🐾 Jasper Wildlife & Spirit Island
Tour Jasper with stops at Maligne Overlook, Medicine Lake, and Maligne Lake—the longest glacier-fed lake in North America. Optional walk to Moose Lake or cruise to Spirit Island. Lunch at the Lakehouse (on your own). Overnight in Hinton.
Day 12: Friday, August 14 – 🌄 Scenic Drive to Calgary
We’ll drive the scenic route back to Calgary and spend the night at Best Western Plus Calgary.
Day 13: Saturday, August 15 – 🐂 Boundary Ranch & Bison Wagon Ride
On the way to Medicine Hat, we’ll stop at Boundary Ranch for a wagon ride to view a bison herd and enjoy an included lunch. Optional line dancing! Overnight at Holiday Inn Express.
Day 14: Sunday, August 16 – 🍽️ Glendive & Catered Dinner
Drive to Glendive, MT and enjoy a catered meal at Holiday Inn Express and Suites.
Day 15: Monday, August 17 – 🦖 Makoshika State Park & Brookings
Visit Makoshika State Park—Montana’s largest—featuring badlands, fossils, scenic drives, and hiking trails. Then drive to Brookings, SD and stay at Holiday Inn Express.
