From Seattle and Mount Rainier to the Oregon Coast, Redwood Forest, San Francisco, Yosemite, Las Vegas, Bryce Canyon, Denver, and Springfield, this trip is packed with once-in-a-lifetime sights and memories.
Day 1 — Wednesday, July 14
Campton, Kentucky to Cedar Rapids, Iowa 🚌
We will leave Campton at 5:00 AM, with pick-ups as needed, and begin our journey west. Our first overnight stop will be in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where we will stay at the Holiday Inn Express Collins Rd. Tonight, we will enjoy a catered meal for dinner. 🍽️
Day 2 — Thursday, July 15
Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Winner, South Dakota 🌊
After an included breakfast, we will travel to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where we will visit and view the beautiful falls. After our time at the falls, we will continue to Winner, South Dakota, where we will spend the night at the Holiday Inn Express. 🏨
Day 3 — Friday, July 16
Winner, South Dakota to Billings, Montana 🤠
This morning, after an included breakfast, we will begin our journey to Billings, Montana. On the way, we will visit South Dakota’s Original 1880 Town. Bring your group back in time and experience the spirit of the frontier as you walk the boardwalks, explore historic buildings, and enjoy a stop that offers something for every guest, whether you want to explore, relax, or take in a bit of western history. After this stop, we will drive on to Billings, Montana, where we will spend the night at the Trailhead Inn. 🏨
Day 4 — Saturday, July 17
Billings, Montana to Spokane, Washington 🏔️
After an included breakfast, we will travel to Spokane, Washington, where we will spend the night at Oxford Suites in Spokane Valley. 🏨
Day 5 — Sunday, July 18
Spokane, Washington to Seattle, Washington 🌲
After an included breakfast, we will make our way to Seattle, Washington. On the drive, we will stop at Spokane Falls, a spectacular, roaring urban waterfall and dam system on the Spokane River in downtown Spokane. We will then continue to Seattle, where we will spend the next 2 nights at the Hyatt House, the closest hotel to the Space Needle. You will have the rest of the day to explore the area. You will also be within walking distance of Chihuly Garden and Glass, which you may visit on your own if you choose. 🌆
Day 6 — Monday, July 19
Mount Rainier National Park Guided Tour 🏔️
After an included breakfast, we will leave early with a step-on guide to explore beautiful Mount Rainier. Our first stop will be about an hour later, before arriving at the park, for a rest stop and snacks. We will then arrive at the park entrance and have time for photos. Stops are expected to include a forest stroll, National Park Headquarters, a glacial river stop, a waterfall stroll, and Paradise at the 5,400-foot level for lunch, the visitor center, and exploration of the meadows. After departing Paradise, we will stop in Stevens Canyon for a walk at Reflection Lake and canyon overviews. Tonight, we will spend the night again at the Hyatt House in Seattle. 🌲📸
Day 7 — Tuesday, July 20
Seattle, Washington to Portland, Oregon 🌋
After an included breakfast, we will make our way to Portland, Oregon. On the way, we will visit Johnston Ridge Observatory, where you can view the lava dome and growing glacier from a visitor center overlooking the crater of Mount St. Helens. We will also stop and enjoy an included picnic lunch on the way. We will stay at Oxford Suites for the next 2 nights. Oxford Suites also offers a complimentary soup and bread meal if you choose. 🥣
Day 8 — Wednesday, July 21
Oregon Coast Guided Tour 🌊
After an included breakfast, we will have a step-on guide for a tour of the beautiful Oregon Coast. Our first stop will be Camp 18, a famous log-cabin-style restaurant and outdoor logging museum located at milepost 18 on U.S. Highway 26 in Elsie, Oregon. It pays tribute to the Pacific Northwest’s historic timber industry.
We will also stop at Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach, one of Oregon’s most recognizable and popular attractions. Its intertidal area is one of Oregon’s seven Marine Gardens, and above the high tide line, Haystack Rock is protected as part of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge. It provides habitat and viewing opportunities for a wide range of seabirds, including one of the most accessible colonies of Tufted Puffins in the Northwest. Haystack Rock’s tidepools are home to many intertidal animals, including sea stars, anemones, crabs, chitons, limpets, and nudibranchs. ⭐
We will also visit Cannon Beach, a premier coastal destination known for dramatic sea stacks, abundant wildlife, and a charming, walkable village. Its natural beauty and vibrant arts scene have made it one of the most beloved stops on the Oregon Coast. Other stops will include Neahkahnie Viewpoint and Tillamook Creamery, famous for its award-winning cheddar cheeses and rich ice cream. 🍦
Day 9 — Thursday, July 22
Portland, Oregon to Crescent City, California 🌲
After an included breakfast, we will drive to Crescent City, California. This will be a beautiful drive from Portland to Crescent City. Tonight, we will spend the night at the Oceanview Inn. 🌊🏨
Day 10 — Friday, July 23
Crescent City to San Francisco, California 🌉
After an included breakfast, we will head to San Francisco, California. On the way, we will visit the Redwood Forest, known for having some of the world’s largest trees. We will spend the next 2 nights in San Francisco at a hotel in Fisherman’s Wharf. You will have the rest of the afternoon and evening on your own. 🌲
Day 11 — Saturday, July 24
Muir Woods, Sausalito, and Alcatraz Night Tour 🌉
We will have a cold continental breakfast this morning. Our bus driver will be off today, but we will enjoy a 5-hour tour of Muir Woods and Sausalito on another bus. This will be a wonderful opportunity to take beautiful photos of the Golden Gate Bridge. The rest of the afternoon will be on your own.
Tonight, we will take the ferry out to Alcatraz Prison for a nighttime tour. The Alcatraz Night Tour is an exclusive evening experience featuring a live-narrated sunset ferry ride, the award-winning audio tour, and special ranger-led programs not offered during the day. 🌙
Day 12 — Sunday, July 25
San Francisco to Yosemite National Park 🏞️
After a cold continental breakfast, we will start early and travel to Yosemite National Park. We will be staying at a hotel inside the park. You will also have tickets for the Yosemite Valley Floor Tour, which is approximately 2 hours long. During the warm months, this tour may be enjoyed in an open-air tram, and during colder months, from the comfort of a heated motor coach with panoramic windows. Led by park rangers and Yosemite Hospitality naturalists, you will see many of Yosemite’s highlights while learning about the park’s history, flora, and fauna. The rest of the day will be on your own. 🌲
Day 13 — Monday, July 26
Yosemite National Park to Las Vegas, Nevada 🎰
No breakfast is included this morning. Today, we will make our way to Las Vegas, Nevada, where we will spend the night on the main strip. This is a short stop, but you will get a taste of Vegas. You can always go back with us on our Southwest trip, where we will spend 2 nights there. 🌃
Day 14 — Tuesday, July 27
Las Vegas, Nevada to Bryce Canyon National Park 🏜️
No breakfast is included this morning. We will depart our hotel and travel to Bryce Canyon National Park, where we will stay close to the park entrance at the Best Western Plus Ruby’s Inn. You will have the afternoon inside the park to enjoy the free hop-on, hop-off shuttle that takes guests to the scenic areas of the park. 🚌
Day 15 — Wednesday, July 28
Bryce Canyon to Denver, Colorado 🏔️
This morning, we will drive to Denver, Colorado. This will be a long day of driving, but you can rest and relax while traveling. Tonight, we will stay at the Drury Inn in Denver, and we should arrive in time for the Drury Inn kickback meal. 🍽️
Day 16 — Thursday, July 29
Denver, Colorado to Hays, Kansas 🎶
After an included breakfast, we will have a step-on guide for a half-day tour. On this guided tour, we will visit Red Rocks Amphitheatre, along with several other highlights in the Denver area. We will then travel to Hays, Kansas, where we will spend the night at the Best Western Plus Butterfield Inn. 🏨
Day 17 — Friday, July 30
Hays, Kansas to Springfield, Illinois 👻
After an included breakfast, we will drive to Springfield, Illinois, where we will spend the next 2 nights at the Drury Inn. Tonight, after our kickback meal, we will enjoy a ghost walk in the city of Springfield. 🌙
Day 18 — Saturday, July 31
Lincoln Experience in Springfield, Illinois 🇺🇸
After an included breakfast, we will enjoy the Lincoln Experience Tour. This highly immersive 4-hour guided tour is a deep dive into the life of the 16th President, tracing Abraham Lincoln’s footsteps through the homes, courtrooms, and historic sites where he lived, worked, and rose to national prominence. Tonight, we will spend the night again at the Drury Inn. 🏨
Day 19 — Sunday, August 1
Springfield, Illinois to Home 🚌
After an included breakfast, we will begin our journey back home with wonderful memories from our Pacific West Coast Tour. 🌊🏔️
